GEORESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY

This new curriculum of the Second-Cycle Degree Programme allows the acquisition of specialist knowledge for the management of the energy transition through the study of fossil and renewable energies. Furthermore, it provides the necessary knowledge base for the identification, analysis and use of geomaterials in the context of environmental compatibility.

Students will learn the methodologies used for an integrated analysis of surface and subsurface geological and geophysical data, which are aimed at the identification of deposits for the production and storage of fluids (gas, CO2), as well as drilling and production techniques. These objectives will be achieved also through internships at companies operating in the energy sector. Additionally, this curriculum provides the petrographic and geomechanical knowledge required for the analysis of rocks, as well as information about the specific areas of application of geomaterials in the industrial sector and the preservation and valorisation of the architectural, historical and cultural heritage.
